Brandford Campaign Announces Two Major Endorsements

BALTIMORE, MD – With an overwhelming support, the Committee to Elect Stanley Brandford for Baltimore City Sheriff, secures the endorsements of the 1199SEIU, Maryland’s largest healthcare union, and the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO).

The 1199SEIU Maryland/DC Division represents over 10,000 members who work in major academic medical centers, health clinics and other hospitals and dozens of long-term care facilities in Maryland. 1199SEIU United Health Care Workers East represents over 400,000 caregivers and is the largest and fastest-growing healthcare union in America.

AFL-CIO is the largest federation of unions in the United States. It is made up of fifty-six national and international unions, together representing more than 12 million active and retired workers. The AFL-CIO engages in substantial political spending and activism, typically in support of Democrats and liberal or progressive policies.

Brandford is a proud US Veteran who served as a Marine, a husband, father of five and has 28 years of decorated service in The Baltimore Police Department. Brandford is prepared and ready to lead change in the community and in the Sheriff’s Department.

With a simple goal and motto of, “WE CAN DO MORE!”, this campaign will give a new vision to how the Sheriffs’ Department engages in crime prevention for youth.

Brandford is seeking to out seat the incumbent, Sheriff John Anderson, who has been in office for over 30 years. It is time for a change, says Brandford. Brandford believes the Sheriff’s Department should and can be doing more to assist residents in the City of Baltimore.
